Quarantine Home
Announcements and tour dates…

Quarantine was established in 1998 by directors Richard Gregory and Renny O’Shea with designer Simon Banham. We make original theatre, performance and public events with and about the people who are in it. Whatever form it takes, our work begins and ends with the people in the room. Over the last 20 years, we've collaborated with a shifting constellation of artists, performers and people who've never done anything like this before. Our work seeks to create the circumstances for a conversation between strangers...

There are things in life that you can’t rehearse for….

We’re presenting the first part of our  quartet of works: Summer. at Comédie de Béthune in the Pas-de-Calais region of Northern France, on 14 & 15 April. We’re making a version in French with performers who are local to Béthune.

Wallflower will tour the UK in 2018/19.  Tickets are now on sale for Wallflower at GIFT – Gateshead International Festival of Theatre, at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead. Get your tickets here.

Alongside this tour of Wallflower we’re inviting local people in each place we visit to share their remembered dances, creating portraits of people remembering dances across the UK.  Share yours with us on social media using #wallflowerdances.

Future dates coming soon.

We’re excited to announce the world premiere of English, our collaboration with National Theatre Wales, at Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff, part of Festival of Voice in June 2018.

English asks what happens when we move to another country and don’t really know how to say who we are.

How to disagree, how to be in love, how to be funny – how to say what life is really about….

English pulls pop songs apart, tears grammar to pieces and invites all the languages in the room to be heard.

Tickets are now available to book here.

In autumn 2018 we’ll begin a new project, Tenancy, created in direct response to the rapidly changing identity of Manchester city centre.  Artists will be invited to take up tenancy in the city centre, creating new artworks in collaboration with their neighbours and in response to their surroundings.

Tenancy is part of Meet the Neighbours, a 3 year cross art-form project with partners in France, Morocco, Netherlands and Poland, supported by Creative Europe.

We’re proud to announce…

…that we are one of five arts organisations joining Manchester City Council’s Cultural Partnership portfolio for the first time this year. £1.1m has been awarded to fifteen different arts organisations from April 2018-March 2022 to deliver a wide range of cultural activities and opportunities both for local people and a wider audience.

No Such Thing

Come and join us for a curry in exchange for a conversation. We will be at Kabana Curry Café, Back Turner Street, Manchester, between 12-2.30pm on 21 March, 18 April, 17 May and 14 June 2018. Please email info@qtine.com to make your reservation.
