Quarantine Home
New projects, an exciting development & a date for your diary…

Quarantine was established in 1998 by directors Richard Gregory and Renny O’Shea with designer Simon Banham. We make original theatre, performance and public events with and about the people who are in it. Whatever form it takes, our work begins and ends with the people in the room. Over the last 20 years, we've collaborated with a shifting constellation of artists, performers and people who've never done anything like this before. Our work seeks to create the circumstances for a conversation between strangers...

The beginning of Autumn.

This month, Lancaster’s Live at LICA launched their first Associate Artist scheme and Quarantine have been invited to join Imitating The Dog and Andy Smith as Live at LICA’s inaugural Associate Artists from 2015 – 2018.

We are really excited about building on the fantastic relationship we have developed with Live at LICA over many years of working together… and as part of the support offered by the scheme, Quarantine will be developing and premiering Autumn. in Lancaster this October.

Autumn. is the second part of an epic and ambitious quartet of performances – Summer. Autumn. Winter. Spring. – which examine our relationships with change. It follows the sell-out success of Summer. which premiered in Salford in June 2014:

The full quartet will premiere in partnership with Contact, SICK! Festival and HOME, Manchester’s newest cultural centre, in March 2016.

Wallflower… an invitation and a world premiere

Wallflower 2adj

Long-time Quarantine collaborators Sonia Hughes and Jo Fong (Entitled) join performers Nic Green and James Monaghan to create Wallflower, a game in which performers are challenged to remember every dance they’ve ever danced…

Each night the performers choose the stories they want to tell and what part of themselves they want to reveal.

There will be three non-public try-out performances of Wallflower at HOME on 20, 21 and 22 August 2015.

  • Performances on 20 and 21 August will begin at 8pm.
  • A durational version will be performed on 22 August from 5pm – 10pm.

The world premiere of Wallflower will be at Noorderzon Performing Arts Festival 2015 on 28 – 30 August.

Tickets for Nooderzon go on sale 27 July 2015.

nic green

Wallflower performer Nic Green has been invited to develop her own Quarantine project in 2015/16, as our first Guest Artist.

Nic will look at Quarantine’s body of work from the last 17 years and create something of her own in response – in her own voice and with her own approach.
