Quarantine Home
No such thing and the close of Autumn…

Quarantine was established in 1998 by directors Richard Gregory and Renny O’Shea with designer Simon Banham. We make original theatre, performance and public events with and about the people who are in it. Whatever form it takes, our work begins and ends with the people in the room. Over the last 20 years, we've collaborated with a shifting constellation of artists, performers and people who've never done anything like this before. Our work seeks to create the circumstances for a conversation between strangers...

Autumn: An interval…

In October 2015 we previewed Autumn. following a 3-week development period at Lancaster Arts at Lancaster University.

As part of the process of making Autumn. we invited preview audiences to join us in a period of reflection, an interval between the past and the future…

We shared food, facts (accurate and maybe not so accurate) and personal histories, creating a timeline which charted the history of the world as we collectively understood it.

In the background, technicians cleared the boxes and confetti and strewn items belonging to the last performance and set up the rows of seats ready for the next…

We began with the end of Summer.

We ended as Winter. was ready to begin.

Autumn. isn’t finished. What we shared in Lancaster was a try-out of material and of ideas. The final piece (though it’s never really final) will premiere along with the full quartet, Summer. Autumn. Winter. Spring., in Manchester – 22 March to 3 April 2016. Tickets are currently on-sale via HOME and Contact.

No such thing…
