Quarantine Home
Rajni Shah’s Glorious at LICA

Quarantine was established in 1998 by directors Richard Gregory and Renny O’Shea with designer Simon Banham. We make original theatre, performance and public events with and about the people who are in it. Whatever form it takes, our work begins and ends with the people in the room. Over the last 20 years, we've collaborated with a shifting constellation of artists, performers and people who've never done anything like this before. Our work seeks to create the circumstances for a conversation between strangers...

Rajni Shah’s Glorious at LICA

Posted: 28 November 2012

This Saturday (01/12/12), catch Rajni Shah’s Glorious at Live at LICA

Glorious is a haunting and unusual new musical completely reinvented for every location, as members of the local community work with Rajni Shah Projects to create the final event.

Following performances in Nottingham, London, Newcastle and Mons (Belgium), Rajni Shah Projects will make Lancaster their home this autumn, meeting people on the streets and inviting them to create and perform their own monologues for this version of Glorious. Meanwhile, a team of local musicians will make their own unique versions of the Glorious songs which they will perform live.

Those lives we were glimpsing? They were our lives. Those parties and arguments and anxieties and houses are ours… that is what Shah shows us, and that is the gift she offers us. Don’t be frightened of life, she reminds us. It’s all we have.” Maddy Costa, review of Glorious at SPILL 2011, Barbican London

Co-commissioned by Spill Festival at the Barbican, Live at LICA, Wunderbar Festival and Inbetween Time Productions.

Rajni Shah is one of our current batch of Grafters – more information about Graft can be found here
