Quarantine Home

Quarantine was established in 1998 by directors Richard Gregory and Renny O’Shea with designer Simon Banham. We make original theatre, performance and public events with and about the people who are in it. Whatever form it takes, our work begins and ends with the people in the room. Over the last 20 years, we've collaborated with a shifting constellation of artists, performers and people who've never done anything like this before. Our work seeks to create the circumstances for a conversation between strangers...

Can you remember every dance you’ve ever danced?

Richard, Renny and Simon are coming to the end of a five-week residency in Aberystwyth University, where they’ve been developing a new touring piece set to premiere this summer.

As part of the process, they’ve been working with long-term collaborators Sonia Hughes and Jo Fong, trying to remember all the dances they’ve ever done. Jo has been a professional dancer for 25 years. Sonia is a writer… and a dance-floor queen.

The creative team have been sharing their process with students from the MA course in Performance Practice, who will present their own performance inspired by Quarantine’s process at the end of this week.
