We’re delighted to announce that Kevin Jamieson will be joining the team in September 2023 as Quarantine’s Executive Director.

Kevin Jamieson joins Quarantine from HOME, Manchester where he has been Head of Programme for nine years. He produced over 50 HOME productions working with a wide range of artists and theatremakers, on the stages of HOME and in found spaces across Manchester.

Kevin championed, developed and programmed work by independent artists from the UK and worldwide, and was responsible for the development of annual festivals Orbit and Push, showcasing companies from the North West and beyond.

Through lockdown he worked in partnership with Jude Christian, then HOME’s Associate Director, to establish the ‘Homemakers’ programme: a series of over 40 commissions made by artists at home, for audiences at home, which were viewed by audiences all over the world….

Kevin has been on a number of arts boards and, until recently, was Chair of Interplay Theatre, a national sensory theatre company based in Leeds. He’s also been a regular panellist for the Total Theatre Awards at Edinburgh Fringe Festival and is an Arts Emergency mentor.

Kevin Jamieson has this to say about the appointment…

“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining the team at Quarantine as their new Executive Director. I’ve long admired Quarantine’s work and their ethos and have had the opportunity to work with them closely in their role as an associate company at HOME. I always feel a Quarantine show is such an event – likely to live with you long after it’s over. They create extraordinary experiences for audiences and the artists they work with.

“I’m looking forward to meeting and working with all the amazing staff, artists, supporters and participants in their work and to playing a role in realising their ambitious and diverse programme of events.”

Co-Artistic Directors Richard Gregory and Renny O’Shea said…

“We’re delighted that Kevin is joining us at Quarantine. We’ve had great experiences working with him on co-productions and projects with HOME over the years – including Summer.Autumn.Winter.Spring., Wallflower and – most recently – 12 Last Songs. Kevin is one of the most respected, well-liked arts managers and producers around – in our 25th year, we’re looking forward to opening a new chapter with what Kevin brings to the Quarantine story. It feels like a real privilege to have him join us.

“Of course, it means saying farewell as Executive Director to Ali Dunican after 11 years with Quarantine, as she moves on to work with Common Wealth in Bradford and Cardiff. Ali has been a brilliant colleague, collaborator and friend – we wish her every success in her new role and we know we’ll see more of her in the future – you can’t shake us off that easily!”
