40 days and 40 nights

On 5th November 1998 – Quarantine, Company number 03662113, was incorporated at Companies House.

Fireworks.

20 years later, in 2018, we thought about hosting a big party to celebrate. Or publishing a book full of photographs from the shows. Or staging a retrospective.

But instead, we decided to stop. Stop doing what we’re doing and ask ourselves a question:

If we were to start a company on that day –  5th November 2018 – what kind of company would we create? We were all 20 years older and the world had changed. 

For the next 40 days and 40 nights, we put ourselves in quarantine and, via a specially created website, we worked out in public what we might do next.

Every day, at midday and midnight, until December 14th 2018, we posted new material on that site. There was writing, images, sounds and links to other things. 

At the end of it all, we came out changed.

But for 12 hours, until midnight on 5th November 2018, Quarantine didn’t exist.
